How to Add a Countdown Timer to Google Sites

Google Sites is a quick way to spin up a page for an event, a class, a club, or an internal project. What it doesn't give you out of the box is a live countdown timer. If you want visitors to see exactly how long until your launch, deadline, or match day, you need to embed one. Troubleshooting

A few things trip people up:

• The embed isn't showing. This is almost always the sandbox. Switch from the script snippet to the By URL tab or the iframe version - the hosted URL is the most reliable route in Google Sites.
• Sandbox limits. Google Sites restricts what embedded content can do. Stick to the hosted timer or iframe rather than custom scripting, and the timer will behave.
